Mercedes-Benz Vans Delivers Around 100,000 Vans In 2nd Quarter 2022

Mercedes-Benz Vans once again underlines its claim to be a leading supplier of eVans in the second quarter and will continue to expand its product range with the electric models in the small van segment. In total, around 3,900 battery-electric vans were handed over to customers (+ 61%). The proportion of the purely electric eSprinter and eVito nearly doubled to around 3,100 units (+ 97%). However, in the privately positioned midsize van segment, deliveries of the EQV declined by 4% from April to June.

Despite continuous fluctuations in the area of semiconductor supply, sales remained at the previous year’s level in the second quarter 2022 with 100,000 units in total worldwide (- 2%). From April to June, 83,900 commercial vans of the (e)Sprinter, (e)Vito, (e)Vito Tourer and Citan models were handed over to customers (- 0%). In the USA, sales of Sprinter and Metris (Vito) vans were almost doubled to 19,700 units (+ 96%), which are record sales in one quarter.

The strong portfolio of Mercedes-Benz Vans also convinces in the private segment. In addition to the V-Class and EQV, the new T-Class (Q2 2022: 300 units) was handed over to customers for the first time ever. In total, 16,000 privately positioned vans were sold (- 10%). The continuing boom in motorhomes continues to have a positive impact on the demand for the Marco Polo and all its derivatives.
