The experienced crew of PESADO Transport had 430km to traverse with their 16 axle Goldhofer THP/SL heavy-duty combination to carry a 218t gas compressor from the port in Veracruz to the Miguel Hidalgo refinery in Tula. The Hidalgo refinery in Mexico is being repaired and modernized as part of Mexico’s energy reform initiative.
The PESADO crew transported the large gas compressor, which was 14.8m long, 5.3m wide, and 5.17m high, using a dropdeck. The equipment chosen was a 16 axle heavy-duty module combination with a payload capacity of up to 300t and deck extensions of 15m in length. The combination, which was around 65m long and weighed 385 tons, was operated as a push-pull tractor trailer rig using two Western Star 515 horsepower heavy-duty tractors.
