Introducing JCB’s 245XR Reduced Tail Tracked Excavator

JCB, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of construction equipment, has introduced the 245XR, the latest addition to its highly acclaimed X SERIES excavators. The 245XR is the second of the new X SERIES variants to be introduced to Australia, following the award-winning 220x. JCB’s vision was to design and engineer the most advanced 25-tonne reduced tail tracked excavator that would meet the demands of its customers.

JCB’s engineering teams have obsessed over every minor detail of this world-class excavator, using automotive quality materials and proven components to create a machine that is both rugged and refined. The result is a machine that can be trusted and taken seriously.

Despite its reduced tail swing, the 245XR boasts one of the biggest, most comfortable, quiet, and easy-to-operate cabs on the market. This has been achieved without any compromise on performance. The machine has a reduced slewing radius, which makes it ideal for contractors working in confined urban sites.

The 245XR has undergone extensive hydraulic, electrical, and structural development and testing to build a machine that doesn’t just look strong but is strong. The machine has extraordinary attention to detail, following the same high-quality X Series design ethos and utilising cutting-edge production facilities to bring you not just great excavators but exceptional ones.

Proven Japanese components deliver precise, efficient control. Customisable electro-proportional controls allow operators to set their preference of speed and control of attachments. With a reduce tail swing at just 1,720mm, the 245XR has a 40% shorter tail swing than the conventional 220X, making it ideal for contractors working in confined urban sites.

JCB has invested over four years of research and development and listened to 1,000 customers to build a machine that’s ready to perform in the most extreme conditions, from 55ºC heat to freezing temperatures. The 245XR is a machine that works with extreme efficiency on the demolition site or non-stop in the civil construction sites. Best-in-class productivity allows you to move more, with a massive 15200 kgf bucket tear out and two defined slew speeds for optimal cycle times. The machine has an auto-stop and auto-idle feature that provides fuel savings of up to 5%. Hydraulic pipes and hoses have a large diameter for increased productivity and efficiency.

In conclusion, the JCB 245XR is a world-class excavator that boasts a reduced slewing radius, without any compromise on cab space or performance. The machine has been designed and engineered to be the most advanced 25-tonne reduced tail tracked excavator, and JCB’s engineering teams have obsessed over every minor detail to create a machine that is both rugged and refined. With proven Japanese components, customisable electro-proportional controls, and a reduced tail swing, the 245XR is a machine to be trusted and taken seriously.
