Inaugural Transport Evolution West Africa Aims To Showcase Solutions To Unlock Regional Trade In West Africa
  • Taking place from the 5-7 June 2024 at the Accra International Convention Centre, the event is poised to become the largest conference and exhibition for the transport infrastructure and logistics sector in West Africa
  • The event will be co-located with WAMPEX (West African Mining and Power Exhibition), now in its 17th year and organised in partnership with EPI and The Ghana Chamber of Mines.
  • Free entry to visit the event grants access to exceptional workshops addressing challenges faced by the mining, power and transport industries.
  • Expect to see over 150 leading suppliers from more than 20 countries, showcasing solutions for the mining, power, transport, and logistics sectors.

The transportation industry is the lifeblood of global commerce. Over the past few years, logistics across the West African region has played a key role in driving investment and growth within the region. Despite this, West Africa still faces several challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, currency fluctuations and differing customs clearing and border controls. At Transport Evolution West Africa (TEWA), co-located with West African Mining & Power Expo (WAMPEX), these are just some of the topics which will be explored by decision-makers and thought leaders from across the region, and the globe.

At the three-day event, TEWA will host a series of free-to-attend workshops focused on addressing the challenges in the sector. Innovative product demonstrations from renowned international suppliers will bolster the informative nature of these workshops, all designed to ensure attendees see the latest products and solutions first-hand. Attendees can explore different solutions to their challenges, source the equipment they need, and build relationships with key suppliers and service providers.

“The theme for the TEWA conference, Unlocking West Africa’s Potential, sits at the core of TEWA and its commitment to providing attendees with exceptional, relevant insights and hands on knowledge,” said Adele Tolken, Event Director at dmg events, the organisers of TEWA and co-organisers of WAMPEX. “We will be unpacking policy alignment of trade and transport across West Africa, helping organisations to navigate the future of regional trade through conversations and enhanced cooperation, and help attendees find ways to navigate existing complexities.”

TEWA is an exceptional opportunity for attendees to reimagine their roles on the continent and understand how critical they are to expanding growth within the region. It is through their commitment to collaboration, innovation and development that trade, industry, and logistics are seeing significant shifts in scale and capability in 2024.

These themes are reflected in the key topics at TEWA, all focused on driving the narrative and providing attendees with maximum value. The topics include: Unlocking West Africa’s Potential – policy alignment of trade and transport across West Africa; Navigating the future of regional trade – Enhancing cooperation and integration among member countries to promote economies of scale; The role of regional facilitation agreements in promoting collaboration and reducing trade barriers; Infrastructure development crucial for creating an integrated transport network in West Africa; Public-Private Partnerships in addressing transportation challenges for sustainable development; and Advancing logistics and supply chain and transport infrastructure development for seamless trade in West Africa.

The Learning Academy Programme at WAMPEX is a highlight, providing insights and knowledge sharing across key challenges and opportunities for companies in the mining, power and transport sectors.

The Learning Academy Programme is free to attend for all registered trade visitors to both WAMPEX and TEWA and will be structured around the following core areas: Safety technology for the mining industry; the latest technology and solutions for measurement professionals around the world; optimised lifting and handling solutions in transport and logistics; climate resiliency for transport infrastructure; innovative solutions in rockfall mitigation, to name but a few.

Commenting on the value of the Learning Academy Programme, also a highlight at the event, Tolken said: “The programme focuses on safety technology, solutions, optimisation strategies, innovation, and so much more. We are excited to host an educational series designed to provide decision-makers and market leaders with highly relevant, curated content they can use to enhance their roles and organisations.”

Registration is now open with free admission to trade and industry professionals over the age of 18.
