Hyster announces it will provide CARU Containers B.V. with a 100% battery-powered Hyster empty container handler for the CARU depot in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The electric empty container handler will be powered by 650-volt lithium-ion batteries, with electricity sourced from solar panels on site at the CARU depot. EDEKA Minden-Hannover will replace its current diesel fleet of 700 vehicles with IVECO S-WAY LNG trucks to meet its goal of operating a complete low-CO2 vehicle fleet by 2025. Epiroc, a leading productivity and sustainability partner for the mining and infrastructure industries, has agreed to purchase the key assets of Schramm Australia, a leading manufacturer of products for reverse circulation (RC) drilling. Since February 2023, Schramm Australia, based in Perth, has been in voluntary administration, and Epiroc will now continue the business to the benefit of the customers. Einride and DAF have signed a letter of intent for the supply of 50 fully electric New Generation DAF trucks. These state-of-the-art vehicles will be added to Einride’s fleet of electric heavy-duty vehicles, which is one of the largest of its kind in Europe. The first vehicles out of the series of 50 have been ordered and will be delivered in the course of this year. Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has officially handed over its first fully electric reachstacker to long-term partner Cabooter Group following a six-month testing period. The reachstacker will continue operations at Cabooter Group’s Greenport Venlo intermodal terminal in the south east of the Netherlands. Saudi Arabian Mining Co. (Ma’aden) has finalised an agreement with Ivanhoe Electric Inc. (IE) to purchase 9.9% shares in the company for $126.5 million and form a 50/50 joint venture to undertake one of the largest exploration programmes ever conducted.
