CMC Now Has Its Official Branch In The Albion’s Land, TSS To Become CMC UK

Italian tracked spider manufacturer CMC has acquired a minority stake in its UK distributor Tracked Spider Sales (TSS) which will now trade as CMC UK.

Italian spider lift manufacturer CMC has taken a stake in Tracked Spider Sales Ltd. its UK distributor, which from Today becomes CMC UK.

TSS was officially appointed the CMC distributor for the UK and Ireland in March 2020 and has since gone on to sell more than 100 spider lifts since then. Based in Worthing, Sussex, the company provides the full range of petrol/diesel, hybrid, and lithium spider lifts from CMC with working heights ranging from 13 to 41 metres. It also provides after-sales support across the UK thanks to a network of ‘authorized service agents’.

The company will initially trade under both TSS and CMC UK brand names, with the plan for a full change over to CMC UK in the spring. It will continue to be run by Russell Woodward, who is joined by Peter Loseby who has been appointed technical director with responsibility for after-sales service, LOLERs, and repairs. Loseby is also in the process of training additional engineers with support from CMC in Italy. Both Woodward and Loseby have almost 45 years combined experience in the industry and have spent much of their careers with UK rental and sales company Facelift.

Russell Woodward – Director at Tracked Spider Sales / CMC UK said: “Having got a solid footing in the UK market, it was a natural progression to merge with CMC and form CMC UK in order to give our customers more confidence in both the product and support. I am delighted to be working alongside such a forward-thinking, dynamic, and progressive manufacturer. The company invests around 15% of its revenues each year in research and development, ensuring their range of machines meet the demands of their current and future customers.”

Alessandro Mastrogiacomo – Export Sales Director of CMC, said:  “With this merger and acquisition the message is clear, CMC is not only here to stay but also to become the spider lift market leader in the UK. Since our journey has started with Russell and his team it quickly became a day-to-day relationship with a skillful, experienced, and motivated business partner, which understands business and knows exactly how to deal with British and Irish customers. What we are announcing today, is only the natural consequences of what we have done together in the past 18 months. I’d like to officially announce the birth of CMC UK.”
