Cramo Group, a division of Boels Rental and one of Europe’s leading companies specialising in equipment rental services, has taken delivery of 181 Genie GS-1932m micro scissor lifts to meet demand for quality, productive equipment for use in warehouses and data centres throughout six European countries covered by Cramo’s services.

“We chose Genie GS-1932m micro scissors for their light weight and ultra-compact design,” said Jacobo Campos, senior category manager for Cramo Group. “We’re sure our customers will appreciate the addition of these new machines to our diverse existing line-up.”

The GS-1932m is just 1.4 m long and 0.81 m wide, which makes the micro scissor an ideal choice for work in narrow aisles and other tight spaces, which are common in warehouses and data centres. The compact design also allows it to drive through a standard doorway with fixed guardrails. Weighing just 1,179 kg the GS-1932m also is light enough for a standard elevator, and allows the machine to work on sensitive flooring that couldn’t accommodate the weight of a standard-sized scissor lift.

Front wheel drive with a zero inside turning radius means the GS-1932m is easily manoeuvrable, and a platform capacity of 227 kg delivers the productivity benefits of a scissor lift in a compact footprint.

Powering Genie micro scissors are brushless, fully-sealed and maintenance-free AC electric drive motors, which deliver industry-leading efficiency and a 35% reduction in lifetime maintenance costs. And with 70% fewer hydraulic hoses and fittings, maintenance needs are reduced and simplified, lowering the total cost of ownership.

“This purposeful design makes the GS-1932m a practical choice not only on the jobsite, but from an ownership standpoint as well,” said Campos. “There was clearly a lot of thought put into the purposeful design of the machine. Even the ladder to the platform, which is integrated into the machine; makes getting into the scissor lifts comfortable and keeps the machine ultra-compact.”

The Cramo Group elected to add on Genie Lift Connect telematics with Access Manager to help manage its new fleet of micro scissors and facilitate remote access. Lift Connect provides extensive and actionable fleet management data, while Access Manager enhances the security of Cramo Group’s new equipment because only authorised operators can access and operate the machines.
