Have you ever imported machines from China?
As an international inspection service specializing in used construction equipment, we receive numerous requests every week to inspect heavy machinery in China. Currently, we offer inspections in select regions, primarily around Shanghai and Hefei, but we plan to expand to other areas soon.
What makes offers from China unique?
From our experience, used construction equipment like wheel loaders and crawler excavators are listed in China at prices 30%-40% below global market rates. The prices are often so low that even after factoring in shipping, the machines can still be cheaper than equivalents from Europe or other regions. These deals seem particularly appealing to businesses in Africa, but we’ve also had inquiries from Canada, Peru, and beyond.
Do the machines match their advertisements?
Over the past two years, we’ve inspected about 80 used machines in China. Unfortunately, only a handful matched their online descriptions. We’ve frequently found discrepancies between the advertised and actual condition or operating hours. In some cases, machines were assembled from components of various other equipment. It’s also common for original Chinese machines to be repainted in yellow and relabelled as American or Japanese brands, giving a false impression of their origin and quality.
