DAF’s Heavy-Duty Trucks Gain Traction In The Middle East

DAF Trucks, one of the leading vehicle manufacturers in Europe, is strategically expanding its footprint beyond Europe, where it already holds a strong market leadership position, into the Middle East. In the UAE, DAF re-entered the market through a partnership with Al Naboodah’s Swaidan Trading, capitalising on the region’s growing demand for reliable, high-performance trucks in the construction and heavy-duty sectors. In 2024, DAF Trucks achieved record sales volumes since re-entering the UAE market.

DAF vehicles are also contributing to several major infrastructure and construction projects across the region, playing a vital role in supporting the ongoing development of the Middle East.

Top-Selling Models and Advanced Features

DAF’s CF and XF series trucks have gained significant traction in the Middle East, with strong sales growth and widespread adoption across private enterprises and government institutions. Known for their reliability, durability and advanced performance, these trucks have become the preferred choice, resulting in repeat purchases from key customers.

The CF excels in vocational and distribution segments, thanks to its robust cab design and efficient powertrain. The XF, with its superior cabin comfort, stands out for its premium high roof and luxury finish. Offering engine options from 230 HP to 530 HP, these trucks ensure versatility while meeting Euro 5 and Euro 6 standards, reflecting DAF’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

DAF construction trucks are equipped with best-in-class safety features that enhance driver security, vehicle uptime and overall operational profitability. Key technologies such as stability control, adaptive cruise, forward collision warning and an advanced emergency braking system ensure optimal safety and performance in demanding construction environments.

Additionally, DAF’s telematics capabilities provide drivers with real-time performance and driving behaviour reports via the dashboard. These insights empower operators to adopt fuel-efficient and safer driving practices, reducing wear and tear while maximising the profitability and efficiency of each truck.

DAF construction trucks are built to last, with features like the unique multi-torque engine, which delivers peak performance at just 900 RPM and maintains a flat torque curve over a wide range. This ensures exceptional fuel efficiency and drivability, contributing to reduced operational costs.

The trucks are also designed for heavy-duty applications, featuring a double-layer chassis frame that extends from the front bumper to the rear, ensuring durability and a lower total cost of ownership. With body-builder-friendly designs and a wide range of chassis options, DAF trucks cater to diverse operational needs, making them a preferred choice in the construction segment.

DAF’s Commitment to Customer Satisfaction

Swaidan Trading, renowned for its nationwide after-sales network, has built a strong reputation in the construction industry through its successful bus and equipment sales. This established trust enhances customer confidence when choosing DAF trucks.

To support customers, Swaidan Trading ensures a well-stocked inventory of parts to meet demand and minimise downtime, keeping trucks operational at all times. Mobile service vans are also deployed to handle on-site requirements, reaching even the most remote locations, including areas near the UAE’s borders.

DAF’s outlook for 2025 remains highly optimistic, with sustained sales growth anticipated as the construction sector continues to expand. The company’s strong product lineup and proven track record in the region’s infrastructure development position DAF to meet the evolving needs of the construction and heavy-duty trucking sectors.
