The Kögel Multi is the tried and tested, versatile body version of the platform trailer series for the transport of construction materials and all weather-resistant loads. Thanks to its removable body components, the Multi is also suitable for transporting extra-wide or extra-long cargo. Kögel will demonstrate what the series can do at bauma, the world’s leading trade fair for the construction industry, from 24th to 30th October 2022 in Munich.
“Economy meets Ecology” – the Kögel Multi fulfils Kögel’s customer promise with its universal applicability in construction sites, construction material logistics, and more. This versatility allows fleet operators to achieve a high degree of utilisation in their daily business, and thus, economic efficiency. At the same time, the versatility of the fully equipped platform trailer also prevents empty trips, ensuring a high degree of sustainability in construction site logistics. The Multi is just one of several body versions. Within the platform trailer series, customers can choose from Mega versions, coil trough versions, and the chassis of the Lightplus lightweight trailer.
Customers can discover the versatility and high performance of the series for themselves at bauma. The displayed three-axle Kögel Multi, with a hitching height of 1,100 to 1,160 millimetres, features the reinforced NOVUM-generation frame and a body with a 2,000-millimetre high steel front wall, five pairs of folding, removable drop sides, and a double-panel door at the rear. An optional storage box can be installed for stowing the ten drop sides, the back wall panel and for all fold-down stakes. The configuration also allows the transport of extra-wide and extra-long cargo, such as prefabricated concrete parts, shuttering, long steel and mesh mats. To prevent the drop sides from being scratched during storage and retrieval, the mounting device is provided with a protective overlay in the storage box. Other auxiliary equipment can be safely stored in the spacious toolbox.
Load-securing equipment includes insertable stakes, lashing rings and twist locks
As well as the folding side and rear stakes, eight stake pocket rails and eight stake pockets allow form-locked securing of the load that is optimally adapted to the respective cargo. In addition, the Multi has a load-securing certificate in accordance with DIN EN 12642 XL, and can optionally be certified for the transport of reinforcing steel mesh. Furthermore, there are numerous options for friction-locked load-securing with tension straps, for example, the Kögel VarioFix external frame with 24 pairs of five-ton lashing rings. The Multi can also be optionally equipped with twist locks, allowing one 40-foot or two 20-foot containers to be transported on the platform.
Kögel Multi offers more than 30 tons of payload in theory
In general, Kögel trailers offer an exceptional ratio of tare weight to payload. The same applies to the Multi series. For example, the three-axle Multi in the basic version is available with a tare weight as low as approx. 5,500 kilograms. The corresponding, theoretically possible payload is up to 30,500 kilograms. Those who need even more payload should opt for the chassis of the Lightplus lightweight trailer, which offers 600 kilograms more payload.
Thanks to their clever lightweight construction, Kögel trailers are highly robust and durable. The Multi is tested for a floor loading capacity of up to 7,200 kilograms.
Perfectly tailored configuration thanks to a comprehensive range of options
Customers can adapt the Multi and all other platform trailers from Kögel to their individual requirements with numerous equipment features. This starts with the chassis and extends all the way to the body. The front walls can be up to 2,600 millimetres high and made of steel or aluminium. The drop sides are available with a height of 600, 800 or 1,000 millimetres in aluminium. As an alternative to double-panel doors, the rear portal is also available with folding back walls. The Multi can be configured with four or five pairs of drop sides. Additionally, the platform trailers are available with two and three axles, an axle lift and a self-steering axle, as well as a mount for a portable forklift.
