Under the motto “The future of heavy haulage”, Goldhofer took advantage of this year’s bauma to present a world first in the form of the FT SERIES, a pivot-mounted pendulum axle combination system for on-road working in the heavy payload class. The presentation made a big impression on Florian Hackl, proprietor of Hackl Spezial-Transporte GmbH, a family business operating in the field of heavy haulage and special transport solutions. The planning, organization and handling of heavy and special transports in national and international and long-distance freight haulage are among the company’s main activities.
“The decisive factor for the purchase was the unprecedented flexibility and investment security offered by the new pivot-mounted pendulum axle combination system. In addition, the FT SERIES can combined with an extra-large and deep excavator boom recess for moving heavy equipment,” explains Florian Hackl.

The FT SERIES offers unprecedented flexibility and investment security for the heavy haulage industry. This smart system unites semitrailers in the heavy payload class and heavy-duty module combinations, especially for road transportation. The big attraction of this new type of vehicle is that system changes can be made quickly and easily at any time. This allows a flexible response to changing market requirements and reduces the total cost of ownership.
The combination ordered by Hackl comprises a 2-axle and 1-axle chassis up front, a crawler deck and a 5-axle rear chassis with an excavator boom recess. The detachable 1-axle chassis is used for the extra payload needed to move large demolition excavators weighing up to 92t in combination with the 5-axle tractor.
