Schmitz Cargobull, Europe’s leading manufacturer of semi-trailers, opens a new production site in Manchester (UK).

“Great Britain is an important transport and logistics location and therefore also an important market for trailers and box vehicles for Schmitz Cargobull. With the new plant in Manchester, we are moving closer to our customers and ensuring that we can meet their needs with the most reliable chassis and a tried and tested body on site, ”says Andreas Schmitz, CEO of Schmitz Cargobull.

Production at the 7,500 m² facility in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester, with a capacity of 50 units per week, is scheduled to start this summer. Among other things, Freepost curtainsiders and box semitrailers will be produced on site.

A 1,000 square meter spare parts warehouse will also be set up at the site for local supply and this will be the main location for all Schmitz Cargobull UK employees by the end of the year. The joint managing directors of Schmitz Cargobull UK are Paul Avery for production and Alan Hunt for sales and service activities.

This includes market-specific features, the shortest delivery times, an extensive 24/7 spare parts supply and our proven range of services from financing to telematics to the sale of used vehicles, ”says Boris Billich, Sales Director at Schmitz Cargobull.

With a network of highly flexible production facilities, Schmitz Cargobull is able to react quickly to local market requirements and currently produces around 46,000 trailers per year.

Schmitz Cargobull stands for reliability and innovation and guarantees consistently high quality standards worldwide, from the vehicle configuration to the handover of the vehicle to the customer.

Customer service is supported by an authorized network of 1,700 workshops in the UK, Ireland and Europe.
