Schuch Heavylift, a German crane rental company, turned to Grove for its latest rental fleet expansion, adding eight cranes ranging from 60 to 450t capacity over the past 12 months, including a custom-built model via Manitowoc’s specialist consulting division, Lift Solutions.
The cranes included two GMK3060L-1, one GMK5150XL, four GMK5250XL-1 and one GMK6450 -1.
Schuch Heavylift’s GMK6450-1 is the first to have the option of removing the boom, allowing it to be configured at axle loads of below 10t. To optimize driving without a boom, a second suspension circuit was installed on the unique MegaDrive system, which adapts the chassis to the different axle loads. The crane was also delivered with the optional MegaWingLift attachment, which increases capacities at steeper boom angles, plus luffing and fixed jibs for greater jobsite versatility.
Schuch Heavylift is part of the Schuch Group, which has been in business over four decades and operates from six locations in southwest Germany. It also undertakes projects across the rest of Europe, North America, Africa and the Middle East. All the cranes were sold to Schuch Heavylift by KranAgentur Werner, which also provides full aftersales service.
