Juffali Commercial Vehicles and Mercedes-Benz Trucks play a major role in the construction of Saudi Arabia’s $500 billion megacity project Neom.

Juffali Commercial Vehicles is playing a vital role in the construction and development of one of the world’s most ambitious new mega-developments. NEOM is described as a vision of what a new future may look like; the estimated $500 billion regional development in northwest Saudi Arabia on the Red Sea being built from the ground up as a living laboratory, and a place where entrepreneurship will chart the course for this new future.

“The scale and ambitions of NEOM are second to none and it is incredibly rewarding to see our Mercedes-Benz Trucks Actros and Arocs are working so hard for this world-class project,” says Heiko Schulze, CEO of Juffali Commercial Vehicles.

NEOM will be the home and workplace of more than a million residents from around the world. It will include towns and cities, ports and enterprise zones, research centers, sports and entertainment venues, and tourist destinations.

Top-of-the-range trucks

“The Mercedes-Benz Trucks brand is synonymous with reliability, top-of-the-range Heavy-Duty Trucks, and our customers receive a Truck with components that are designed to work together to deliver higher production levels and versatility,” says Schulze.

The new generation of Mercedes-Benz, Actros, and Arocs heavy-duty trucks, which are assembled at the National Automobile Industry (NAI) Factory (subsidiary of Juffali Commercial Vehicles) in Saudi Arabia, has added a new dimension of efficiency and strength, as they were developed specifically for extreme weather conditions in Saudi Arabia and with specifications that make them bear the most difficult operating requirements.

“The Mercedes-Benz, Actros, and Arocs trucks have proven to be highly efficient and durable, making them a favorite for many customers around the world,” adds Schulze.

Assembled locally

A joint venture between Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles and E.A. Juffali & Brothers established the NAI factory in Jeddah in 1974 to assemble Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles locally in Saudi Arabia.

The NAI factory is continuing to develop and grow to become one of the top Mercedes-Benz plants outside of Germany and has earned the ISO-9001/2000 international quality certificates. Aligned with Vision 2030, the NAI factory is assembled locally by the hands of Saudis.

Juffali Commercial Vehicles’ parent company, JIPCO, offers Mercedes-Benz Trucks, FUSO Trucks & Buses, MCV Buses, EvoBus, and Mercedes-Benz Vans, as well as service and support solutions. Their services cover all various complex requirements, from sales of new and used vehicles, spare parts, repair, and maintenance, to body work and vehicle assembly.

Great ambitions

With the first phase of the development expected to be complete by 2025, NEOM will be a destination and a home for people who dream big and want to be part of building a new model for exceptional livability, creating thriving businesses, and reinventing environmental conservation.

As a hub for innovation, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and companies will come to research, incubate, and commercialize new technologies and enterprises in groundbreaking ways. Residents of NEOM will embody an international ethos and embrace a culture of exploration, risk-taking, and diversity – all supported by a progressive law compatible with international norms and conducive to economic growth.
