The new version of Schwing-Stetter’s UltraEco truck mixer brings the body weight of the drum down to less than 3 tonnes and, on a weight-optimised EURO-6 8×4 chassis, thus still allows a payload of 8m³ of concrete with a permissible total weight of 32 tonnes.

The Euro 6 emissions standard has changed constantly since its introduction in 2014 up to the current status in the Euro 6d version. The implementation of the new truck mixer standard EN 12609 and the new rear underride guard also result in a significant increase in weight and thus a direct loss of payload. With a conventional four-axle lightweight mixer, this can lead to a reduction of the concrete volume from 8m³ to 7.5m³. In order not to exceed the magic limit of 32 tonnes despite the new specifications, Schwing-Stetter further developed the UltraEco truck mixer in order to fully compensate for the extra weight and still be able to guarantee the transport of 8m3 of concrete.

With mechanical mixer controls, the drum speed increases as the travel speed increases. The electronic truck mixer control of the SMART 3.0 keeps the drum speed at the selected, low level – regardless of the speed of the truck mixer. By avoiding unnecessary drum revolutions, drum wear and fuel consumption are noticeably reduced and revenue per tour increases. Typical operations such as loading and unloading as well as filling concrete buckets are simplified and reliability increased with an electronic truck mixer control system.
